No distrito de Carlos Alves, em São João do Napomuceno (MG), há uma castelo ostentoso, com 32 suites, 18 salas e 8 torres. O tal monumento pertence ao deputado federal Edmar Moreira (DEM-MG). Não haveria nada de mais se a tal obra (que tem valor estimado em 25 milhões de reais) estivesse constando na declaração dos bens do deputado à Receita Federal.

Em sua defesa, o deputado diz que o castelo foi construído para estimular o turismo na região. E a obra foi executada em 1990, antes de ele se tornar um parlamentar. Diz também que atualmente o monumento está no nome de seus filhos, por isso não consta como um de seus bens.

É bom lembrar que o Deputado foi recém-eleito Corregedor da Câmara dos Deputados, um cargo cujo ocupante tem a função de "denunciar colegas por quebra de decoro parlamentar".
